5th Kenya National Chess Championship for Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) – 2026
The Chess Kenya Federation invites all eligible players with disabilities to participate in the 5th edition of the Kenya National PWD Chess Championship. This inclusive national event aims to promote talent, equality, and excellence in chess across all disability categories.
Date: 6th June 2026
Venue: KCB Sports Club, Ruaraka – Nairobi
Time Control: 25 Minutes (Rapid – Flat)
Rounds: 7 Rounds
The championship is open to players with valid registration from the National Council of Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD), competing under the following categories:
- Physical Disabilities
- Hearing Impairment (HI)
- Visual Impairment (VI)
Participation is free of charge, and all registrations must be completed online before the deadline on 5th June 2026 at 6:00 PM.
The tournament will follow FIDE Laws of Chess, with fair play and anti-cheating regulations strictly enforced. Top performers will be awarded trophies, medals, and cash prizes, and outstanding players may be considered for selection to represent Kenya in international PWD chess events.
All participants will receive certificates, and attendance at the closing ceremony is mandatory for prize collection.
